2. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Information you provide: name, work email, phone number, firm name, role, message content, and any files you submit through our forms (consultation requests, free trial signups, newsletter subscriptions, careers applications).
- Client engagement data: when your firm engages us, we process the books, tax data, payroll records, and source documents you share, strictly within the scope of the work you assign.
- Automatically collected: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed, referring URL, timestamps) and cookie identifiers used to maintain sessions and measure site performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to consultation, trial, and careers inquiries
- Deliver the accounting, tax, and back-office services contracted by your firm
- Communicate engagement updates, status reports, and SLA notifications
- Send opt-in newsletters and educational content (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve our website, services, and security posture
- Comply with applicable legal, tax, and professional-standards obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your clients' data to third parties. Ever.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in these limited situations:
- Within BusAcTa: with the named team members assigned to your engagement, under signed NDAs and role-based access controls.
- Service providers: vetted infrastructure vendors (cloud hosting, secure file transfer, email delivery, analytics) bound by data-processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: if compelled by valid legal process or to protect rights, safety, and property.
We never share client engagement data with marketers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties.
5. Data Security
We follow enterprise-grade security practices: TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, MFA on every system, role-based access, signed NDAs, hardened company-managed devices, no local data storage, full audit logs, and SOC 2-aligned operating procedures. 6. Data Retention
Marketing inquiry data is retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Client engagement data is retained for the duration of the engagement and securely purged within 30 days of completion, unless your firm instructs otherwise or law requires longer retention.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@busacta.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9. International Transfers
BusAcTa operates from offices in the United States and India. By engaging with us, you understand that your information may be processed in either country, under contractual safeguards consistent with applicable data protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of our site or services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
